#30 Days of happiness – Day 15

Once upon a time in a land not so far away (depending on where you live) lived two young women. They had had a very rough few days, plans had been cancelled at the last minute, people had been putting them under unnecessary stress. They could have sat there alone in their houses and felt sorry for themselves. But if they had done that this post would not have been possible.

So with a sigh as if she had let all the drama flow away Lindy texted Tee. The message was not all smiles and wow what a lovely day! But when Tee suggested a day by the pool things finally had started to look up. By pure chance both these lovely women wore polka dot swimsuits. Seems great minds really do think alike.

With the sun shining, clear skies and warm weather they jumped in the pool. Ahhh! what could be better.

A day by the pool is enough to make anyone happy. However it wasn’t just the relaxation that made Lindy happy (I know I’m talking about myself in the third person but I promise I’m not in love with myself) it was great conversation with a great friend. Sometimes just getting everything off your chest no matter how big or small the issue and just having someone listen without judgement can be all that you need. They don’t need to fix you but knowing that they care can make all the difference to how you feel.

They spoke about family dramas, love lives (or apparently my lack of ha ha ha), growing up and our fears and excitement about the uncertainty of the future. Sure by the of the conversation the problems had not disappeared but we both knew that no matter how tough these situations got we always had someone who would be there to listen.

It was the perfect day! It was what they did, what they spoke about, the person they were with. Life isn’t perfect and things don’t always go smoothly but there are some moments that when we experience them or look back they bring a smile to our face. It’s that moment that makes you feel like even if some things aren’t going well that there still ok. So while things don’t always go right for this moment, for this day Lindy and Tee lived happily ever after!

I love this photo! It was simple but captured the moment. Every time I look at it I smile and that is enough to make anyone happy.
